Long-term serviced apartments as accommodation

When looking for long-term accommodation (30 days or more), you may think your only choice is to rent or check-in to a hotel. But there’s another choice that many people overlook: long- term serviced apartments.

What is a serviced apartment?

A serviced apartment is fully furnished available for both short and long-term lets. These apartments provide guests with a range of home comforts such as sofas and TVs and provide hotel-like services, such as housekeeping, which are all provided within the overall rent price. They can also be booked on a night-by-night basis, or you can book them out for longer periods of time.

Why choose serviced apartments for long-term accommodation?

Flexibility

The beauty of a serviced apartment is that it provides the guest with complete flexibility. You choose how long you want to be there; it could be one month, it could be six.

If you’re constantly on the move, travel for work or waiting to move into something else, long-term serviced apartments are a great choice. You don’t have to commit to a set time, you don’t need to sign a tenancy agreement and there is no notice period.

Rates are better in the long term

Although in the short-term rates may seem a bit steep, for a longer period of time they are more cost effective than their hotel counterparts.

Fully furnished (and yes that means with everything)

And that doesn’t just mean a double bed with a wardrobe, we’re talking fully set up kitchens with pots, pans and utensils.

This means no need to purchase anything and no need remove anything when you leave. The move in and move out transition couldn’t be easier and thus they provide much more freedom than other accommodation types.

Most serviced apartments come with:

Access to housekeeping and maintenance

Unlike renting where you need to do it all yourself, serviced apartments provide new bed linen, towels and give your apartment a clean, usually once a week. They will also take care of any issues that may arise quickly, as most providers have a maintenance team regularly onsite.

Location

Location is important. And if you want to be in a city centre, chances are you are going to have to pay a premium for it. Serviced apartments however, enable you to stay in both central and fantastic areas for excellent prices meaning you can stay in areas you may not be able to afford if you were to rent there.

Security features

Something that is often overlooked is the importance of security. Whilst many standard rentals do not offer this, nor would you expect them to, serviced apartments normally offer 24/7 security and out of hours call-out services etc.

Luxury amenities

The things that come as standard in serviced apartments, are normally things you would deem as a luxury when you check out a rented property.

For instance, good quality appliances, parking, wifi and complimentary tea and coffee are all included in the rent price. Some serviced apartments even offer gym and spa facilities like saunas and hot tubs!

Bills included

Serviced apartments offer an inclusive rate, so all of your bills are included in the price quoted. This means you know exactly how much you need to pay every month. Plus, you won’t have the added pressure of setting up bills, you just move in and the rest is taken care for you!
